Cochran is a small city located in Bleckley County, Georgia. The city had a population of about 5,000 people in 2016 according to the United States Census Bureau. Currently, Cochran serves as the seat of government or Bleckley County. The city was incorporated on March 19, 1869. Cochran is named in honor of Arthur E. Cochran, president of the Macon and Brunswick Railroad.
